From sole proprietors to small businesses, choosing the right industrial tools for the job can be a real challenge. There are a number of factors which should be considered in order to get the best tool for the job. Without quality tools in the workplace, it can be difficult to compete and win ongoing business.

One of the first considerations is to determine the priority of the tools you are going to need to perform a specific job or series of work related events. Is it possible to purchase tools that can allow the worker to perform a number of different, but related functions? If not, when should acquisition for a specific tool occur as related to the revenues that having that tool would bring the business?

Once a list of priorities are set, go through the tools and determine a reasonable budget towards the purchase of each item. This may require some amount of research as to current price points, but there are some quality online retailers that will provide one with the best pricing options for the tools under consideration.

Once prices have been determined, go through the list with an eye for brand preference. Some people simply prefer one brand over another. If experience has proven to you that a specific manufacturer creates tools that suit your way of working, make sure those brands on your tool list are highlighted in some way.

With brand preferences noted, compare the tool prices of choice options to second and third options from the list. Does ones budget provide for the brand choice in every category? If not, a decision will have to be made between lower cost alternatives to your first choice of industrial tools.

Have you considered the ergonomic aspects of the tools you need to do your work? Repetitive stress injuries can occur from long term use of poorly fitted or designed tools. Saving money on a lower quality, lesser ergonomically friendly tool now could cost much more in lost productivity and medical payments later.

If your business might benefit from the introduction of robotic machinery compare the cost of implementing these types of tools into your work place. Automated actions can be replicated using robots for much lower costs than paying a worker to do the same job. While not all work lends itself to the use of robotic tools, where this is an option, consider investing in long term productivity gains and lower costs of that production.

Other aspects of choosing the right industrial tools which can be overlooked are the maintenance and repair issues related to the tools you use. If a higher quality option has a higher price tag up front, does it also have increased costs of maintenance? What about parts or how much it will cost the company to have a repair person to the site if things break down? Researching these extended aspects of ownership are a must when considering which tools to invest in.

In order to do quality work one has to have quality tools. Brand considerations aside, total cost of ownership versus the cost of buying inferior quality tools in order to save money should be factored into any new tool buying decision. If one saves a few dollars today, will they still be able to turn a profit down the road? Having the best tools that perform at high levels for long periods of time is a sure way to ensure success now and in the future.

Vern Marker is a freelance writer and a handy DIY man. Currently, two tools he couldn’t live without are Makita Cordless drills and the air compressor he got from Grainger.

If you have purchased a Makita cordless drill to help you do some DIY at home or in the garden or if you work with a drill on a day to day basis, then you will be pleased to know that you can get so much more from this power tool by purchasing some Makita cordless drill accessories.

What is Available?

There are so many different types of accessory that you can buy for your drill which will improve its performance making it easier for you to get those jobs done. If you want to buy a spare battery for your drill, or another charger, or adapter then you can find these available for any Makita drill that you have. You may also want to buy a torch to fit to your drill which will help you see when you are trying to drill into places where there is not much light. This can be very useful because it will mean you do not need to get someone to hold a torch over the spot where you are trying to work.

Many Makita cordless drills come with a number of drill bits but you may still need to buy more to ensure you are getting the most from it. There are drill bits available for almost any type of surface that you would need to drill in to such as concrete, wood, metal or tiles for example. You can also buy other accessories for your drill such as mixing blades for plaster, mortar and paint.

Where to Buy?

Makita cordless drill accessories are available from a number of places such as hardware stores and online. You can also use your drill as a screwdriver and there are many screwdriver bits that can be bought for your drill. Your Makita cordless drill has so much potential but you have to have the right accessories.

The best place to look for Makita cordless drill accessories is the internet because there is so much more choice and the prices tend to be cheaper. With so much competition online, you will be spoiled for choice and that is why online sellers tend to be cheaper. They know that if their prices are too high, you will just look for what you want somewhere else.

If you really want to get more out of your Makita cordless drill then it is worth thinking about buying some extra accessories. You will find that Makita cordless drill accessories are affordable and tough and are of the highest quality, just like the Makita cordless drill.

Most of us will want to have a cordless drill in our toolbox if we are going to be doing a spot of DIY around the house or if we do handy work for a living. Many tradesmen will want to make sure that the cordless drill they have is reliable and durable; Makita is a well known name when it comes to cordless drills. There are many different types of Makita drills available these days but you may be very interested in a couple of the Makita cordless drill 18v. The two main Makita cordless drills that come with the 18v lithium ion battery are the BDF451 and the BDF452. These two drills have a number of similar features but they also have many differences, not to mention the fact that one of them is white while the other is blue.

When it comes to a Makita cordless drill 18v for home use, the BDF452 is the perfect choice. This drill is perfect for occasional use while the BDF451 is more suitable for those in the trade who will require a cordless drill frequently. The BDF451 has three 18v batteries which will give 54 watt hours while the BDF452 will provide 27 watt hours with its 1.5 18v battery.

The BDF451 has a charger that will give a more even charge because of the fact that it uses a temperature controller. The transmission speed differs between the two models as well, with the 451 having a three speed transmission and the 452 having a two speed one.

While both these Makita cordless drill 18v are reliable and long lasting, the one you buy will be determined by the type of work you will be doing and how often you will be using the drill. No matter which one you go for, you can be guaranteed a high quality device that you can depend on for any job.

Makita, as a company, have been around for a long time, in fact since 1915 when it was first established in Nagoya, Japan. In 1972 Makita established their United Kingdom company.

Surprisingly their first rechargeable drill was launched as long ago as 1978. They currently have numerous cordless drill models available so there is no doubt you will find one to suit your drilling requirements.

With nearly 100 years of business savvy and nearly 40 years of building cordless drills there can be no argument over the reliability and experience of Makita.

Repair Or Buy New?

It is going to happen one day when carrying out such arduous tasks as drilling, especially with hard materials, there is going to be a time when your Makita cordless drill will break down.

Sometimes all that will be needed is to have the drill serviced. If this is the case go to the Makita UK website and find the nearest approved Makita service dealer. Remember any mechanical or electrical piece of equipment needs servicing just as you would a car.

A lot of people become very reliant on their tools and do not like to change them so when a fault does develop do not automatically run off to the shops to buy a new one; that old Makita drill has been with you for a long time, it is like a part of your body, you do not know how you will live without it. So do not replace, repair.

Makita Spares and Repair

Makita’s outlook on spares and repairs is to assess possible issues that could damage the drill at the design stage and when they are identified to factor in measures to avoid the issues when the drill is in use. One such innovation is the ‘super joint system’; this system allows the drive to disengage from the drill bit should it hit something that stops its motion therefore avoiding damage to the motor or other working part.

When a problem develops with your cordless drill and you have assessed it is suitable for repair you can go on the internet where you will find countless stores all over the world selling replacement Makita cordless drill parts. As with all websites there are good ones and bad ones. The bad ones will identify themselves very quickly, basically because you will not be able to readily find your drill let alone the spare part you need. If you find a bad one do not waste time move on straightaway.

A good website such as Powertool Spares is a dream site. I moved from the manufacturer to a diagram for a specific model within 20 seconds. Below the diagram it lists all the spare parts available; you just order and pay.

It also gives the option to download the diagram if the one online is too small for you to see clearly.

Remember your Makita is an expensive piece of equipment so consider replacing parts before throwing it away. There are plenty of spares shops and replacement Makita cordless drill parts will only be a fraction of the cost of a new drill.

Makita cordless drills are becoming really popular these days with those who like to do a bit of DIY in their spare time. There are many benefits to using a Makita cordless drill, with one such the fact that they are powerful and affordable, and one of the best things is that most modern Makita cordless drill batteries are lithium-ion batteries. One of the most important things to have with your drill is a battery charger because it is not a good idea to use your drill when the charge on the battery is low. You should always make sure that your batteries are charged before you start using your Makita cordless drill. You will get a battery charger with your drill when you purchase it and you should never use any other charger except this one or you could end up damaging the battery.

So when it comes to charging your Makita cordless drill batteries, you may be wondering how it should be charged and how long for. Charging these batteries is very simple because all you have to do is look at the indicators on the battery charger to see what to do. When the light on the charger is red, it is charging, but when it turns green, it is charged and needs to be unplugged. However, the following tips will help when it comes to charging these batteries:

Although this sounds pretty obvious, you have to remember to make sure your battery charger is plugged into the electricity socket and that it is switched on. You would be surprised at the number of people who have plugged in their charger and then when they went to use the drill they found that the battery had not charged at all because they did not have the power switch turned on.

Make sure the battery is firmly in place in the charger or it will not charge up properly.

Make sure you charge the battery properly until the indicator light shows that it is finished charging.

The first time that you charge your Makita cordless drill batteries, you will need to do it for about seven or eight hours. However, if you have charged it before you simply need to go by the indicator lights on the charger. If the battery is allowed to run down completely then you will have to charge it for about four to six hours before it is fully charged. But once you see the light that indicates that the battery is charged, you should unplug it from the electricity supply because otherwise you will just be wasting money and energy.

If you want to make sure that your Makita cordless drill batteries last as long as possible then you should follow the tips below:

At least once every month, you should make a point of fully charging the battery and then letting it run down completely.

If you want to make sure that you are getting the best charge for your battery, then it is wise to make sure you clean the contact points of the battery and the charger.

Make sure you use the battery at least once or twice every month so that it is not in a discharged state for too long.

If you are not going to be using the drill for some time, then you should take the battery out and put it in a cool, dry place.

Another thing that will ensure the battery charge lasts for longer is to make sure the rotation switch for the drill is in neutral when not in use.

When it comes to doing DIY in the home and garden, one of the most important tools is your cordless drill. This is one tool that most of us couldn’t be without and there are numerous types of cordless drill available these days for us to choose from. However, one of the most popular drill kits available is the Makita cordless drill kit. There are many other brands out there and you will find that some are better than others. Some of them are cheaper than others but as with most things in life, you really do get what you pay for when it comes to cordless drills.

Reliability

I have used a number of cordless drills over the years and I have to admit that this Makita cordless drill kit – Makita LCT200W 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 2-Piece Combo Kit – is by far the best of all. It is reliable and durable and I have had this one for a number of years now without any problems at all. Makita are well known for their quality products and they have worked hard to maintain their reputation as one of the top cordless drill providers around. They are up their at the top of the list because they are dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction with their products. At the end of the day, when you find a product that you are happy with, you will look to that brand again and again.

Convenience

The Makita cordless drill kit I use comes with a two batteries so that I can always have one charging while I am using the other one. This is one of the biggest advantages that I have found because there have been times when I have been working for hours at a time and have needed to charge the battery up again. With my Makita cordless drill I can just swap to the charged battery so that I can start working again immediately. I don’t have to wait for a couple of hours to charge the battery before I can get back to work.

Comfortable Design

I also love the design of my drill because it looks good and is very comfortable to use. I find that the short nose of the drill makes it easier to use and I don’t have to put in as much effort as I did with other drills that had a longer nose and which required me to balance the body of the drill while working with it.

More Efficient

The latest Makita cordless drill kit comes with Lithium ion batteries and these are great because they last much longer and perform much better. They are also lighter than the batteries that were used in older drills. They also have a cooling system so they do not get too hot when the drill has been used for long periods.

When it comes to buying a cordless drill for your DIY work, the Makita cordless drill kit is one of the better options available to you.

When it comes to doing DIY around the home, one of the most important tools you are going to require is a cordless drill. There are many different types of cordless drill available but some are better than others. It is probably better to buy a well known brand name drill instead of taking a risk with one that you do not know much about. When it comes to cordless drills, one of the best ones to buy is a Makita drill. There are a number of different types of Makita drill available so how are you going to know which one to buy. Well one thing to do is to have a look at some Makita cordless drill reviews to see what others think about them. This is one way for you to get an idea of what the various drills can do and if other people are satisfied with their purchase.

You will find many Makita cordless drill reviews on various sites where these drills can be bought. Many people will provide a review about a product which they have bought because it is helpful for others. A lot of us depend on these reviews in order to help us choose wisely. However, you do need to be careful when it comes to reviews. One thing that has been happening lately is that manufacturers are paying people to write reviews for their products and some manufacturers are even paying people to write negative reviews about products from their competition.

So how can you tell which Makita cordless drill reviews to trust? Well the answer is to have a good look around and make sure that you read a number of different reviews. If you find a review that seems to be too good to be true then the chances are that it is. The best thing to do is to read many different reviews and if you find that the general opinion is positive, then you can take this as a good sign.

Reviews can be helpful if they are genuine because they can point us in the right direction. We can see which drills people thought were good and which ones were not so great. If you are planning on buying a new cordless drill for yourself then it would be wise to take advantage of the many Makita cordless drill reviews available online. However, be careful when using these reviews so that you do not buy something that you will not be happy with.

We have many Makita cordless drill reviews right here on this site. We aim to give comprehensive, subjective reviews that will hopefully point you in the right direction should you decide to buy one of these tools.

I would guess not many, seeing as how an angle drill is something you don’t really know you need until you find yourself in tight spot where you could really use one. That’s how I came to the conclusion that an angle drill had to go on my Christmas list. I haven’t bought one yet, but I’ve been looking around at reviews for some help in making a choice. And since my birthday is coming up soon I probably won’t have to wait until Christmas.

One of the drills I’ve looked at is the Makita DA312DWD 12-Volt 3/8-Inch Cordless Angle Drill Kit listed on Amazon. For just over $240, you get not only the angle drill kit with a one-year warranty; you also get the Makita reputation for high quality tools. This particular drill is a 12V tool designed to provide effortless power in a compact unit. Its angling ability allows it to get in places where a standard Makita cordless drill could not go; places like the underside of your deck, in tight corner closets, and even higher spots like those over your window frames. Like I said, you don’t know you need one until you find yourself in one of those tight spots.

Makita DA312DWD 12-Volt 3/8-Inch Cordless Angle Drill Features

Makita tools are always well-known for their excellent features, and this drill is no exception. It’s small and light weight, at just 4-1/8″ and 8lbs. respectively. It’s also a variable speed tool for maximum flexibility over different types of jobs, and it’s specifically designed to be well-balanced for ease-of-use. Yet there are two specific features of the Makita DA312DWD that really impressed me: the electric brake and the overload protector.

The electric brake automatically kicks in when you let go of the trigger, enabling the chuck to stop more quickly than other similar drills. The built-in overload protector monitors motor output and load, making adjustments on the fly to reduce the likelihood of burnout. Coming from a guy who’s put the smack down on quite a few cordless drills in his lifetime, the overload protection is a great feature. And don’t worry about power; the 44 in. /lbs. of torque proves that Makita is not sacrificing anything.

Makita DA312DWD Technical Specifications

What would a Makita cordless drill review be without technical specifications? Just an advertisement. And since we’re not advertising on this site, here are the specs you’re after:

Power: 12V NiMH, 44 in/lbs. of torque

Speed: variable; 0-800 rpm

Chuck: keyless

Length: 4 1/8″

Weight: 8lbs.

Kit Includes: tool, one battery, battery cover, charger, carrying case

In all fairness I would prefer that they include two batteries in the kit rather than just one, but I can understand why Makita packaged it as they did. Angle drills don’t tend to get really heavy workouts so you can get by with a single battery. I’m also not sure if the battery they’ve included gets the same three-year warranty Makita offers on its lithium-ion batteries. If not, at least you still get the one-year warranty on the drill itself.

What Customers Are Saying about the Makita DA312DWD?

I mentioned earlier that I found this drill on Amazon while looking for one for my own purchase. So I think it only fair to give you a sampling of some of the customer reviews I found in my search. Take note of the fact that this drill is rated 4 stars out of 5 on Amazon. Of 26 total customer reviews, 15 were 5-star and five were 1-star. The comments I’ve posted below all come from the 5-star reviews.

“You just slap a bit in its jaws and go to work. It fits just about anywhere.”

“I’ve had my Makita angle drill for about eight years. I work with crews of eight to ten men and my angle drill has been popular as a borrow tool.”

“This is one of Makita’s best products. I use one every day and it has been extremely durable having been dropped and stepped on.”

“Be wise and buy Makita. The torque of this Makita angle drill is good enough for most work and the motor will not burn even if you abuse it.”

Before you go right out and buy one, you might want to take a swing by Amazon and read all the reviews for yourself. There are a few complaints scattered here and there, but for the most part customers who have purchased the Makita DA312DWD 12-Volt 3/8-Inch Cordless Angle Drill Kit have been happy with it.
The bane of cordless tools has always been weak batteries so if lithium-ion can provide a workable solution you can expect tool makers to concentrate on that technology. Yet even so, there are still some pretty good NiMH tools out there, including the Makita 6347DWDE 18-Volt NiMH Cordless Drill/Driver. I did some research on this drill to find out the details, and I’ll give you my thoughts here.

First of all, let me say that I’m not a professional contractor or home builder. Nor am I necessarily an exceptionally handy DIY enthusiast. But I do have project to do now and then that would be made much easier by dependable cordless tools. If this drill lives up to everything Makita claims, it would appear to be a great tool not only for my amateur needs, but also for some commercial ones as well. And the price isn’t bad either – I found it listed on Amazon for just under $210.

Makita 6347DWDE Features

One of the first things you’ll notice about this drill is how easy it is to hold in your hands. In fact, that’s something Makita works very hard on and something for which they are very well-known. Its ergonomic design is very comfortable and natural feeling, and allows you to work the drill with just a modest grip. By contrast, some other drills I’ve tried are so difficult to hold you spend more time wrestling with the tool than you do getting your work done. You won’t have that kind of trouble with this drill.

The next thing you’ll notice is the drill’s “Shift Lock Drive” which does two important things. First, it allows you to change between drill and drive modes with just a single touch. Secondly, it allows for locking of the clutch in the drill mode for peak performance. Throw in dual ball bearings, exceptional balance, and a rubberized grip, and you have tool that is both comfortable and more than capable of getting the job done.

Moving on to the batteries, I have to say that I’m glad Makita includes two 18V NiMH batteries with this kit. They’re not the new lithium-ion units that Makita is pushing so heavily, but their NiMH batteries are no slouches either. They tend to give a longer charge than what we’re normally used to from other manufacturers, and they’re considerably lighter than many other older batteries in the same class. Makita throws in a charger that will handle multiple types of batteries, so you might even be able use it for some of your other Makita cordless drills or tools.

Makita 6347DWDE Features

In honor of all you tech heads out there, I offer the following specs:

Power: 18V NiMH batteries

Speed: 0-100/0-1,300 rpm (dual)

Transmission: all-metal gears

Chuck: keyless

Length: 18.20″

Width: 15″

Height: 4.90″

Kit Includes: tool, 2 batteries, multi-volt charger, two-headed bit, battery cover, plastic case

Also don’t forget the fact that you get the standard Makita one year warranty on the tool itself. I’m not sure whether you get the three year warranty on the batteries; with Makita sometimes you do, sometimes you don’t.

Makita 6347DWDE Customer Reviews

Okay, so now you have my thoughts on the Makita 6347DWDE 18 V cordless drill/driver; but I’m only one person. It would probably help to read some comments left by other people who have purchased this drill and put it through its paces. To accomplish this I went through the reviews at Amazon and copied some of the comments I thought were relevant. It’s important to note that this drill is ranked at 4.5 stars with 76 reviews. That said, here’s what I found:

“After owning this drill for six months and using it on a number of projects, I couldn’t be happier.”

“…if you plan on having your batteries last all day, boring holes in a variety of materials, sinking a variety of lengths of screws into limitless materials, then buy a quality drill like this Makita.”

“Even nicer was the size and weight – felt more like a 14.4 V drill than an 18V in my hand.”

“As a trade professional… I find myself always reaching for the Makita, as I find it the most comfortable to use and as powerful and long running as the considerably more expensive Bosch and DeWalt.”

Now that you know what real people have to say about this drill, maybe you should consider it when the time comes for your next drill purchase. From the looks of it you may not be able to do as well with other brands, for the same amount of money.

There are a number of different jobs that we might want to do around the house such as laying a wooden floor, hanging photos, painting the walls, hanging shelves, fitting cupboards etc. You may need a number of tools for these jobs and once such tool is the cordless power drills. Nearly every DIY enthusiast will have his or her own cordless drill as there are so many jobs that you can do with this. There are numerous types of drill that are available in a range of budgets so no matter how much money you have, you should be able to find a suitable drill for the job you want to do. There are many different brands available these days and two of the more popular drills are the Makita drills and the Panasonic drills.

Cordless drills have so many benefits and the number one benefit is that you do not need an electricity supply for it to work. This means that you can do jobs in the garden if you want without having to worry about an extra long extension cable to enable you to power the tool. You also don’t have to worry about anyone tripping over the power cord while you are drilling which could be quite dangerous. If you are thinking of buying a drill for certain DIY jobs in the home then a cordless drill would be the perfect option.
